I find it sad that some American politicians, in a desperate attempt to try to discredit President Obama’s proposed healthcare reforms, have been trying to use the NHS as one of their weapons.
Instead of trying to discredit a health service that works remarkably well most of the time for most people – despite the continued interference from politicians of all parties – they should be trying to solve the problem of the 46 million US citizens who are without health insurance.
Of course the NHS has its flaws – but at least it is free at the point of delivery for all, with everyone entitled to the same standard of treatment and care, no matter if they are rich or poor.
