Almost a third of UK workers don’t trust their boss!

by Robert Hunt on September 3, 2009

Do you trust your manager? Whether you do or not, it seems that most people don’t!

Apparently almost a third of staff have low or no trust in their senior management teams. That’s the damning finding of research from the Institute of Leadership & Management and Management Today magazine.

It seems that senior managers in national and local government and the media are the least trusted, while those in the charity and retail sectors enjoy higher levels of trust than all other sectors – and even those in the financial sector fare well.

Over 5,600 employees across all sectors and in organisations of all sizes were surveyed for the Index of Leadership Trust.

Is the mistrust justified? I don’t know, but I hope that managers take note!
