Commonsense at last!

by Robert Hunt on October 14, 2009

Margaret Haywood, the nurse struck off for secretly filming inside a hospital, has won her battle to work as a nurse again.

She was struck off earlier this year by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) after being found guilty of misconduct.

Ms Haywood had been concerned about the treatment of elderly patients at the hospital where she worked and film she shot there was shown on Panorama.

Following the action against her by the NMC, thousands of people signed a petition demanding her reinstatement. Now her striking off has been replaced by a caution.

I just hope that there are nurses with her courage and sense of outrage around if I am ever admitted to hospital!
