Are you in your dream job? I’m not sure how many people would say that they are. I’m sure most of us in our more fanciful moments have a dream job in mind that has little to do with day to day reality.
Apparently 97 per cent of workers in Northern Ireland are not in their dream job, according to a survey by NIjobs.com and reported on the onrec.com site.
When asked what steps they would take to get their dream job 76 per cent say they would ‘return to college or retrain’, 38 per cent said they would earn less money and a further 33 per cent said they would ‘relocate overseas’.
But how many of these people would actually stir themselves to do what they say? Not so many, I think.
Personally, I would like to know something about the three per cent who are in their dream jobs. I wonder what they do, especially as 60 per cent of people said that the most important part of a dream job for them would be ‘having fun’.
